When creating my magazine front cover, contents page and double page spread, I will follow the conventions, style and themes of existing magazines. In order to establish which magazines I will follow, I have put together a PowerPoint slide of initial inspirational magazines that I feel will benefit me largely.
I want to base my magazine on the inspiration of the MOJO's special edition of 'Madonna' or the original piece.
Front Cover
I like this front cover as it is effective and professional. Through the use of conventions such as the masthead, colours, text, main image and sell lines, this magazine is a sell-able product that immediately appeals to its target audience. By looking at the front cover of this magazine, I presume the target audience consists of males and females aged between 15 - 50 as well as big fans of Madonna.
Contents Page
In order to create a successful contents page, I am going to follow the conventions of an existing MOJO magazine contents page. By analysing the conventions of an existing magazine, this will allow me to highlight the key aspects that create a successful product.
Double Page Spread
In order to create a successful double page spread, I will follow the conventions and semiotics of an existing magazine. I will include conventions such as a main image and an article. I will include a colour scheme and the title of the article in order to convey what the title is about.
